Jones is a lot of negative traits rolled into one confident individual. He is conniving, sneaky, dishonest, and above all has a terrible temper. He barks orders to his crew and commands the utmost respect. He comes off as charming and well-mannered but do not be fooled by this guise. He will betray you at a moment's notice, and his only true loyalty lies with his crew. His acts of kindness are few and far between, as he has allowed his rough past and lifestyle to erase the person he used to be. All that is left is a vessel full of hatred and greed. You may sometimes see a spark of his old self should you witness private interactions among himself and his close crew members, but he would kill you unblinkingly for ever having stepped foot in his sights.

Once the son of the town's most loved blacksmith, Jones originally wished to follow in his father's footsteps and was fascinated by the forge and his father's creations. When the nobles mistakenly assumed his father the culprit of a viscous crime, however, they executed him without trial. Jones swore revenge upon the nobles and eventually found his way to the docks where he merged his love for precious metals and the sea into one -- thus becoming a pirate. Shortly after becoming captain of his own vessel, Jones lost one of his legs to a viscous behemoth of a creature many described as the Kraken while still others could swear were the fabled Sirens. To this day, Jones refuses to say what exactly he came upon that caused the incident, but he does not appear to be very shaken by it.
